Members: Free
Adults: $9.00
Students and Senior Citizens: $6.50
Active Duty Military: Free
Children ages 11 and under: Free when accompanied by an adult.

The Arkell Museum is member of the Empire State Reciprocal Museum Program. Members of participating museums receive free admission to the Arkell Museum, and Arkell Museum members are able to visit participating institutions for free.

We are proud to be a Blue Star Museum, and offer free admission all year to the nation’s active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve.

The Arkell Museum is a proud participant in Museums For All. Through this program the Arkell Museum offers FREE admission to individuals and families receiving food assistance, identified by showing a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card. Along with a photo ID. This offer is for up to four people per EBT card. Just show your photo ID and EBT card at the admissions desk.

We are located only 3 blocks from Exit 29 on the New York State Thruway (I-90).

The Museum is wheelchair-accessible, and there is ample parking available both in our paved parking lot and along Erie Boulevard and Church Street.

From Albany and the East:

Take the New York State Thruway (I-90) going west to exit 29. Turn right onto Main Street, right at the first light onto Church Street, and left onto Erie Boulevard. The Arkell Museum parking lot is the first right.

From Buffalo and the West:

Take the New York State Thruway (I-90) going east to exit 29 and follow directions above to the parking lot.

From New York City and the South:

Take New York State Thruway (I-87) North to New York State Thruway (I-90) West to exit 29 and follow directions above to the parking lot.

From Montreal and the North:

Take the New York State Thruway (I-87) South to New York State Thru- way (I-90) West to exit 29 and follow directions above to the parking lot.

Take Route 80 North to Fort Plain, turn right onto 5S East and follow into Canajoharie. Turn left at the fork in the road onto Erie Boulevard in front of the gas station, and almost immediately turn left into the museum parking lot at 2 Erie Boulevard before you reach the next intersection.

The mission of the Arkell Museum at Canajoharie and the Canajoharie Library is to promote and celebrate the understanding and enjoyment of the arts and humanities in Canajoharie, the Mohawk Valley, and beyond. The Arkell Museum collects, preserves, researches and presents American Art and Mohawk Valley History, and promotes active participation in art and history related activities, to enhance knowledge, appreciation and personal exploration by all.
