Facility Rental & Catering Services

The Arkell Museum has two indoor spaces available for rental, plus extensive gardens and grounds. The Museum provides a perfect location for a wedding, ceremony, meeting, corporate retreat, seminar, banquet, or social function. Our Memorial Garden has been a favorite location for wedding photographs for generations. Make your next event a memorable one by letting the Arkell Museum at Canajoharie serve as your host. Classroom
The classroom is the perfect space for small lectures and business gatherings. The light court located in the Memorial Garden allows natural light to flood this private room located in the museum’s lower level. Includes setup of tables/chairs, access to an in-room sink, power, and WIFI.

Capacity: 20 seated at tables; 30 seated in a classroom format.

Meeting Room
The meeting room is set in a traditional board room setup, and is a great option for private meetings.Includes setup of tables/chairs, power, and WIFI.

Capacity: 12 seated at tables

Great Hall
Large, open with natural light pouring in from the museum’s high windows this space is a unique location for banquets, wedding receptions, business meetings, and seminars. Your guests will be surrounded with beautiful historic artifacts of the Mohawk River Valley. The crowning feature of the space is the one-of-a-kind floor that is a painted map of the area. The Great Hall is a public space. Museum visitors have access to that space during operating hours. Weddings and large parties must take place during non-operating hours of the Museum: between 6-10PM Tuesdays-Sundays. Includes setup of tables/chairs, power, and WIFI.

Capacity: 160 seated at tables (banquet style); 180 seated in lecture format; 36’ x 72’=2,600 square feet

Memorial Garden and Grounds
Built by Bartlett Arkell in memory of his wife Louisanna Grigsby Arkell the Memorial Garden is a picturesque location for ceremonies, wedding photographs, and cocktail hours. Located off of the Great Hall this beautiful garden makes a perfect respite for guests looking to find a few peaceful moments among the flowering shrubs and fountain/reflecting pool. Use of the Memorial Garden & Great Lawn is included in all rentals of the Great Hall. Groups may choose to rent only exterior spaces. These exterior rentals do not include any extra services.

Wedding package (starting at $4,000 - weddings must take place outside of regular business hours)

The mission of the Arkell Museum at Canajoharie and the Canajoharie Library is to promote and celebrate the understanding and enjoyment of the arts and humanities in Canajoharie, the Mohawk Valley, and beyond. The Arkell Museum collects, preserves, researches and presents American Art and Mohawk Valley History, and promotes active participation in art and history related activities, to enhance knowledge, appreciation and personal exploration by all.
