Black Families in 19th Century Canajoharie Presented by Kelly Yacobucci Farquhar

Kelly has worked in the Montgomery County Department of History & Archives since 1996 with an appointment to County Historian/RMO in 2000. She has been researching the Underground Railroad and African American community in Montgomery County for the past 8 years. With funding from the Preservation League of New York State and the expertise of consultant, Judith Wellman, many wonderful findings resulted from a year-long survey.

"Stories from the Mohawk Valley" Presented by Bob Cudmore

Cudmore is an adjunct professor in the Department of Communications at the College of St. Rose in Albany where he has taught the popular course Introduction to Mass Media since 1988. He has written a regular column on Mohawk Valley history for the Daily Gazette newspaper for over a decade and recently published the book “Stories from the Mohawk Valley: The Painted Rocks, the Good Benedict Arnold & More.”

Annual Juried Art Show in Community Galleries

Submissions are due for the Annual Juried Art Show by noon on Friday October 12th. Artists with ties to New York may enter. This year’s juror is Rachel Seligman, Associate Curator at the Tang Museum at Skidmore. Works selected will be shown in the Canajoharie Library Community Galleries, and awards will be given for Painting, Graphics, Mixed Media and Best in Show.
