Art of New York: Annual Juried Art Show

May 12 - July 23, 2023

This annual show features a wide variety of artistic styles and mediums; oil, acrylic, gouache, and watercolor paintings, photography, and sculpture submitted by artists from across New York State. Juror Eden Compton selected 42 pieces by 37 artists. She operates a permanent studio and gallery in the Beekman Arts district of Saratoga Springs, NY. Her award-winning work has been included in national juried shows, including the Catherine Lorillard Society, Salmagundi Cub in NYC, and the International Pastel Society, as well as numerous regional and local shows. She is a juried member of the Degas Pastel Society, Oil Painters of America and Portrait Society of America, and an Associate with Distinction of the American Women Artists Association.

Visitor Information: Free admission to the Regional Art Galleries, Museum admission free for members and children under 11; $9 adults, $6.50 seniors & students. The Museum, Regional Art Galleries, and Library are open Tues - Fri, 10 am-5 pm; Sat & Sun, noon-5 pm. The Regional Art Galleries and Library remain open until 6:00 pm on Wednesdays. The Arkell Museum & Canajoharie Library are located at 2 Erie Boulevard. The building has off street parking and is wheelchair accessible.

The mission of the Arkell Museum at Canajoharie and the Canajoharie Library is to promote and celebrate the understanding and enjoyment of the arts and humanities in Canajoharie, the Mohawk Valley, and beyond. The Arkell Museum collects, preserves, researches and presents American Art and Mohawk Valley History, and promotes active participation in art and history related activities, to enhance knowledge, appreciation and personal exploration by all.
