Portraits: Windows or Mirrors?

When an artist creates a portrait, are they asking the viewer to look through the frame as if it were a window, gazing at the subject as a different person, or a mirror, reflecting back onto the viewer? Come join us for this spring break program and we will discuss! Students will also have the chance to explore portraits in the Arkell Museum's own collection by artists like Cassatt, Stuart, and Sargent, before having the chance to create portraits of their very own.

This event is for students between 2nd - 8th grade and is free. For more information, email jriley@arkellmusem.org or call (518) 673 2314 x 113.
