National Art Museum Day & International Museum Day

Thursday, May 18 is National Art Museum Day & International Museum Day, and we are celebrating with guided gallery walks and art activities.

11:00 - "Canada Lake Portraits: Animal Prints, Drawings, and Paintings by American Artist Paul Bransom from the Arkell Museum Collection" Gallery Walk

1:00 - "Animals in Bronze: The Michael and Mary Erlanger Collection of Animalier Bronzes from the Georgia Museum of Art" Gallery Walk

3:30 - Art After School: Meet the People in a Portrait (FREE!) - Open to students K-12, this program encourages students to examine all perspectives of portraiture, then create a portrait of their own!

Admission
Members: Free
Adults: $9.00
Students and Senior Citizens: $6.50
Children ages 11 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.

The mission of the Arkell Museum at Canajoharie and the Canajoharie Library is to promote and celebrate the understanding and enjoyment of the arts and humanities in Canajoharie, the Mohawk Valley, and beyond. The Arkell Museum collects, preserves, researches and presents American Art and Mohawk Valley History, and promotes active participation in art and history related activities, to enhance knowledge, appreciation and personal exploration by all.
