Museum Day Live!

Join us on Saturday, September 23 for Museum Day Live! Over 1,000 museums across the United States are participating in the 13th Annual initiative recognizing the extraordinary power of museums and other cultural institutions to provide visitors with insight and inspiration.

On September 23rd, the Arkell will explore the connections between art and weather, and the wonderful ways in which artists like Winslow Homer, Albert Bierstadt, Grandma Moses, and more played with the wind, the sun, snow, and more in the art. Hands-on art activities for visitors of all ages will be available in our classroom!

Tickets are available to download at http://www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday, and the Arkell Museum will accept both printed or digital versions.

The mission of the Arkell Museum at Canajoharie and the Canajoharie Library is to promote and celebrate the understanding and enjoyment of the arts and humanities in Canajoharie, the Mohawk Valley, and beyond. The Arkell Museum collects, preserves, researches and presents American Art and Mohawk Valley History, and promotes active participation in art and history related activities, to enhance knowledge, appreciation and personal exploration by all.
