Family Activities Schedule
Fun for all ages at the Museum!
Arkell Museum Family Discovery Days are free to museum members and to visitors residing within the following zip codes: 12166, 13317, 13339, 13410, 13428, and 13459. For all others, regular museum admission of $7 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens (with children 11 and under free) applies.

FAMILY:Make a Splash Family Day 1:30pm at the museum with Jeff Boyer’s “Magic Bubble” show in the Arkell Museum’s Great Hall. Boyer’s interactive show teaches kids the science behind bubbles and explores ways in which bubbles make our lives easier, softer and even taste better! Boyer will create pyramid and cube shaped bubbles, and for his finale will place a member of the audience inside a bubble. From 3 to 6pm, the New York State Canal Corporation’s Tugboat “Urger” will dock at the Canajoharie Waterfront for family tours and crew demonstrations. Also at the Canajoharie Waterfront from 3 to 6pm, legendary folk singer George Ward will perform songs of the Erie Canal. Families can also visit the Arkell Museum’s new summer exhibition “Reflections on Water in American Painting: The Phelan Collection,” a temporary double-gallery show of maritime paintings. |
