Join us on April 27th from 12 pm to 5 pm as we celebrate the spring season with free Museum admission, the Spring Used Book Sale, snacks, activities, and art making all day long!

Forbidden Music Regained

Join us on May 4th at 7 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm) for a one-of-a-kind free concert featuring Musicians of Ma’alwyck as they present Forbidden Music Regained, a concert featuring works by Jewish composers in the Netherlands who faced persecution during the Second World War.

Musicians of Ma'alwyck director and violinist Ann-Marie Barker Schwartz will be joined by Max Caplan, piano, and visiting soprano Elizaveta Agrafenina will travel from Europe to lend her rich voice to this concert.

This concert is Free, and all are welcome.

Resume Support

Join us for a new monthly program Resume Support on second Thursdays of each month at 11:00 in the classroom. This program is led by our Library Director and is designed to give you one-on-one assistance in drafting, organizing, and polishing your resume. We can also help with cover letters, references, and communication techniques.

Please bring your current resume and a laptop if you have one. Laptops are not required, we have a few that can be used during the program. If you know where you are applying bring the information with you or have it accessible on your phone or computer.

This program is free. Space is limited and registration is requested.

Kids Concert Series

Join us every second Friday of the month for a special kids music concert with talented musician Gary Van Slyke.

Gary has been performing for many years and has a wonderful curriculum of songs that will get your kids clapping, stomping, and singing along. Each concert is unique and full of new songs. Gary might even bring instruments for the kids to try out!

This program is FREE and open to all. The music will be centered on 0 - 11 age group, but older folks are welcome to join us.

Made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

Butterfly Suncatchers For Kids

The kids are out of school early! Join us on May 17 at 3 pm in the classroom as we make butterfly suncatchers!

We will use construction paper, tissue paper, and contact paper to make butterflies to take home.

This is a FREE program for kids and tweens.

Art of New York Juried Art Show Award Ceremony and Reception

Join us May 18th from 1-4 pm in the Great Hall for an award ceremony and meet the artist reception celebrating the Art of New York Juried Art Show. Awards will be handed out at 2pm.
Meet artists from across New York State, check out the Juried Art Show, and enjoy light refreshments.

This reception is free, and all ages are welcome.

Say Gay: Queer Artists in the Arkell Museum Collection

Join us in the Great Hall of the Arkell Museum, Saturday June 15th at 2:00 pm to celebrate Pride Month with a presentation by Curator of Education Mary Alexander discussing queer artists of the Arkell Museum's permanent collection.
This presentation offers a unique perspective on the Arkell Museum's art collection, and the impact of LGBTQIA+ artists on art and history of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

This talk is FREE and open to the public.
